About the PPF calculator
The Public Provident Fund (PPF) is a government-backed savings scheme with a 15-year term. Deposits qualify for deduction under Section 80C (old tax regime), and the interest and maturity amount are tax-free.
This calculator assumes you deposit the same amount at the start of each year and that the interest rate stays the same.
How to use it
- Move the sliders, or type a value into each box.
- Watch the results and chart update as you go.
- Try different assumptions to see what changes the outcome most, then talk to us about a plan.
The formula
Each year: balance = (balance + deposit) × (1 + r)
- r: annual PPF interest rate
- Deposits made by 5 April earn interest for the whole year
Example
Investing ₹1,50,000 every year for 15 years at 7.1%, you invest ₹22,50,000 and the account could be worth about ₹40,68,209 at maturity.
