About the GST calculator
GST is added to most goods and services in India. Within a state it is split equally into CGST and SGST; for sales between states it is charged as IGST at the full rate.
Choose whether to add GST to a price or to find the GST already included in it, and pick the rate.
How to use it
- Move the sliders, or type a value into each box.
- Watch the results and chart update as you go.
- Try different assumptions to see what changes the outcome most, then talk to us about a plan.
The formula
Add GST: GST = amount × rate · Remove GST: net = amount ÷ (1 + rate), GST = amount − net
- CGST = SGST = GST ÷ 2 (sales within a state)
Example
₹10,000 plus 18% GST is ₹11,800: ₹900 CGST + ₹900 SGST. A price of ₹11,800 including 18% GST has a net value of ₹10,000.
Rates shown follow the simplified GST structure (5%, 18% and 40%, plus 3% for items such as gold). Check the rate that applies to your goods or services.
