About the EPF calculator
Both you and your employer contribute 12% of your basic salary and DA every month. Your full share goes to EPF. Of your employer's share, 8.33% of wages (on wages up to ₹15,000 a month) goes to the Employees' Pension Scheme and the rest to your EPF.
Interest accrues on the monthly balance and is credited once a year. This calculator estimates your EPF balance at 58; the pension (EPS) is not included.
How to use it

The formula
Each month: EPF += your share + (12% of pay − EPS share); interest = Σ monthly balance × r ÷ 12, credited yearly
- EPS share = 8.33% × min(pay, ₹15,000)
- r: EPF interest rate declared by EPFO
Example
Starting at age 30 on a basic salary of ₹30,000 a month, rising 5% a year, at 8.25%, your EPF could be worth about ₹1,31,17,280 at 58.
Assumes the standard 12% contributions, the ₹15,000 EPS wage ceiling and an 8.25% interest rate. EPFO declares the rate every year, and the rules may change.
